- Rehydrate the leaves with a humidity of 50 to 70% maximum.
Put your leaves in an airtight plastic container or bag, spray your leaves with lukewarm water spray. Stir the leaves well as you go. Place your hygrometer in the center of your leaves. Then place a lid on your bin or seal your airtight bag. The hygrometry will then rise. We are trying to reach 50-70%. Leave to stand for the necessary time.
- Remove the central stem from your leaves.
Once the correct humidity is reached, remove the central stalk of each leaf because they do not go through the shredder, you risk damaging it. In addition, the central rod does not smoke. Wear gloves, the nicotine passes through the skin.
- Shred your leaves with a leaf shredder.
Pass your leaves through the grinder. If your chipper gets clogged, your leaves are too wet, let it dry again. We recommend the use of a drill or an external motor to run the grinder TC-100 + automatically. Be careful not to exceed 200rpm on the drill. Originally, the crusher works manually with the crank.
- Make your mixture.
Once all your leaves are crushed, make your mixture in a new container.
For the perfect American blend (Marlboro type), mix the different varieties. However, all mixtures are possible.
Recommendations according to the original recipe:
• Let dry (20-30% humidity).
Be careful, the mixture should never be too dry or too wet. But it is better to have tobacco that is drier (it can be easily re-moistened) than that is too damp (risk of mold). You can place your tobacco in an airtight jar with a hygrometer in the middle of your freshly crushed tobacco, and a damp cotton pellet in order to always maintain perfect humidity.
- Tube your cigarettes!
You can finally tube your cigarettes with your filters and the machine of your choice. We insist, do not tube your cigarettes if your mixture does not meet the right humidity conditions. Too dry, risk of tubing tobacco crumbs, too wet, risk of jamming during tubing and cigarettes impossible to smoke.
